Please remember that Environment Canada’s forecast for Osoyoos is intended for the populated area in the valley, not the Kobau summit. Wildfire effects on the star party are very difficult to predict, even in the short term. Distant wildfires can compromise observing if high altitude smoke is blown towards the star party site, and nearby fires can have a negligible effect if smoke blows in the opposite direction.
