Queen Elizabeth II Observatory

This page provides access to the detailed history of the Mt. Kobau Project or Queen Elizabeth II Observatory.

The Queen Elizabeth II Observatory, which was never built, was a project to create one of the pre-eminent observatories in Canada, that would eclipse others in Canada and rank as one of the largest telescopes on the planet at the time of its construction. The plan was to build this on the summit where the Communications tower stands today.
